HOW DOES MEDIATION WORK?
With Mediation, the Goal is Quick Resolution
We do this by starting a mediation process, outside the court of law, that allows both parties to be heard by a mediator, in our case, Keenan, who then helps everyone come to a mutual solution.
Mediations move swiftly, with a resolution being found generally in one to a few days. This is purposeful – participants don’t have time, energy, or money to waste on the costly back and forth or dragging on that court requires.
Mediation is the most cost-effective dispute resolution strategy. Unlike litigation, participants (often) split the costs of mediation, have a solution in days, and avoid the costliest of legal fees.
The Ebony Mediation
Ebony’s mediation process is unique in ways that only benefit the participants.
Keenan offers a pre-mediation process that occurs a few days before the actual mediation. This is a time for both parties to speak with Keenan, the mediator, in confidence and share relevant information.
By having this pre-mediation meeting, we don’t waste time the day of the mediation getting up to speed – everyone has been able to share their story fully, Keenan has been able to listen fully, and now all parties come together the day of the mediation prepared to find a resolution.
